MATH: Algebra 1 students will be solving quadratic equations by graphing. Pre-Algebra students will be solving systems of equations and general math students will continue studying geometric figures. 

SOCIAL STUDIES: Geography students will be learning about Southwest Asia. In Civics we will be studying the basic principles of economics and continuing to work on Project Citizen.

SCIENCE: The 8th graders will be studying atoms. The 7th graders will be studying a variety of oceanic features.

RELIGION: The 7th graders will be learning what providence is. The 8th graders will be studying the Reign of Terror.

SPELLING: We will be on Unit 29 next week. Words can be found on pg. 180.

TESTS: There are not tests next week.

NEWSLETTER, 3/25/11

MATH: Algebra 1 students will have a test on Tuesday over Chapter 9, Factoring.
SOCIAL STUDIES: The 8th graders will continue working on Project Citizen next week. The 7th graders will continue studying Egypt and Libya.
SCIENCE: Both the 7th and 8th grades will have a test on Friday. The 8th grades test will cover Chapter 16, Climate. The 7th grades test will cover Chapter 15, Earthquakes and Volcanoes.
RELIGION: The 8th graders will continue studying the Society of Jesus. The 7th graders will continue studying the Lords Prayer. SPELLING: We will be on Unit 28 next week. Words can be found on pg. 174.
TESTS: TUESDAY- CHAPTER 9 ALGEBRA 1 TEST

MATH: Pre-Algebra students will be graphing linear equations next week. General Math students will be finding simple interest. Algebra 1 students will continue factoring trinomials.
SOCIAL STUDIES: In Geography next week we will continue studying the History of Russia. In Civics we will continue working on project citizen and studying local governments.
SCIENCE: On Thursday both the 7th and 8th grades will have a test. The 8th graders test covers chapter 15, Atmosphere in Motion. The 7th graders test covers Chapter 14, Plate Tectonics
RELIGION: The 8th graders will be studying the effects Calvinism had on the Catholic church. The 7th graders will continue studying the Gospels.
SPELLING: We will be on unit 26 next week, words can be found on pg. 162.
TESTS: THURSDAY- 7TH GRADE SCIENCE TEST

NEWSLETTER, MARCH 4, 2011

MATH: Algebra 1 students will be working with factors and using the foil method in the reverse order to factor polynomials. Pre-Algebra students will have a test on Thursday over Chapter 7, Equations and Inequalities. General Math students will be figuring out the percent of change of equations.
SOCIAL STUDIES: In Civics we will continue working on Project Citizen. We will also be learning bout city governments. In Geography we will have a test over Chapter 14, Russia’s Economy, on Tuesday. Then we will begin learning about the history of Russia.
SCIENCE: The 7th grade will be studying the theory of continental drift next week. The 8th grade will be learning about the atmosphere.
RELIGION: The 8th graders will be learning about the Renaissance and the 7th graders will be learning about the Gospels, specifically Mark.
SPELLING: We will be on Unit 25, words can be found on pg. 156.
TESTS: TUESDAY- CHAPTER 14 GEOGRAPHY TEST
